A Robotics Day Camp will be held on June 4, 2015 at the Cherry County Fairgrounds from 9 AM to 4 PM.
This camp will introduce youth and volunteers to real-world engineering challenges by building LEGO-based robots to complete tasks on a thematic playing surface. It is designed for youth in grades 4-8, but older youth are welcome to attend. During this day camp youth will:
- Design, build and program robots using LEGO MINDSTORMS® technology
- Apply real-world math and science concepts
- Research challenges facing today’s scientists
- Learn critical thinking, team-building and presentation skills
Adult volunteers are encouraged to attend and learn side-by-side with the 4-Hers. It will give the adults an introduction to First Lego League and they will have the knowledge base to support a long term program. No technical skills required! Attendance at this day camp will help Cherry County 4-H determine long-term programming and interest in developing an area First Lego League team.
Cost of the camp is $10 per participant. Pre-registration and payment is required by May 28th to the Cherry County Extension Office. Make checks payable to the Cherry County 4-H Council. Please bring a sack lunch. Snacks will be provided.
