Cherry County youth interested in horticulture and gardening will have the opportunity to be part of the new Junior Master Gardener (JMG) program. Junior Master Gardeners is an international youth gardening program. JMG engages children in hands-on group and individual learning experiences that provide a love of gardening, develop and appreciation for the environment and cultivate the mind.

JMG inspires youth to be of service to others through service learning and leadership development projects. Children can get involved in exploring their world through meaningful activities that encourage leadership development, personal pride and responsibility, and community involvement.

Youth interested in becoming a part of JMG or those wanting to know more information are invited to an organizational meeting at the Valentine Community Garden on April 3rd at 3:30 PM, CT. For more information contact Michelle Garwood at or (402) 389-1655.
