4-H Leader, Kim Buckendahl, along with volunteers Katie Froning and Jessee Anderson, will offer a series of basic obedience training for dogs and their owners. Classes will be held on the first four Mondays of May from 6:30 PM, CT to 7:30 PM, CT at the Cherry County Fairgrounds in the pavilion.

  • May 2nd – Introduction, equipment needed, know your dog breed
  • May 9th – Heel
  • May 16th – Heel and Sit
  • May 23rd – Sit, Stay & Recall

The classes are open to all youth age 8-19 as of January 1.  Participants who are not currently enrolled in Cherry County 4-H will have to enroll and pay the $5 4-H enrollment fee.

Additional requirements include:  1) Written proof of vaccinations for Parvo, Distemper, Hepatitis, and Rabies will have to be presented at the beginning of the first class.  2) Dogs must be on a 6 foot non-retractable leash with collar and/or choke chain.  3) Owner must be prepared to clean up after their dog (poop scooper, bags).   4) Bring water for your dog.
