This workshop for beginning sewers will take place June 6 at the Exhibit Hall of the Cherry County Fairgrounds. We will begin at 10:00 AM, CT and should conclude by approximately 3:00. Youth will sew a pillowcase, pajama bottoms and decorate a t-shirt to match.

What to bring?

Pillowcase: 7/8 yard of fabric for the body of the pillowcase, ½ yard for the cuff and 1/8 yard for the trim band, matching thread. Please select good quality, 100% cotton fabric. Preshrink your fabrics by washing and drying them in the dryer. Remove from dryer, straighten and press.

PJ Bottoms: 2 1/8 yard of 45 inch wide fabric or 1 ¼ yard of 60 inch wide fabric. Enough elastic for the waistband and matching thread. Select cotton or flannel fabric. Pre-shrink by washing.

T-shirt: Buy your own to coordinate with the PJ Bottoms or choose from our supply ($5).

Please bring a sack lunch, sewing notions, matching thread and sewing machine. The Extension Office has a few machines to borrow if needed. There is a $5 fee to cover patterns and extras and an additional $5 if using a t-shirt from our supply.  Pre-register by May 31 to ensure enough supplies.

This is for all ages in and will fit projects in STEAM Clothing 1 and Beyond the Needle.
