The Special Foods Contest will be held on July 6 at the Catholic Parish Hall. The first session will begin at 10:00 AM, CT. Depending on the number of entries, a possible second session will begin at 12:30.

4-H participants will have 90 minutes to prepare a main dish for a meal and complete a place setting. During the preparation time the judge will observe and score on components including: measuring methods, presentation of finished place setting, knowledge of nutrients and personal diet needs.

There are Junior (8 -10), Intermediate (11-13) and Senior (14-18) divisions.  For more information, contact the Extension Office.  The Special Foods Handbook is available under “Cherry County Project Resources” and entry forms can be found under “Cherry County Fair Events Resources” on our website at cherry.unl.edu/cherrycounty4h. Stop by the Extension Office if you would like a hard copy. Entries are due on or before June 30. An agenda with participants start times will be sent to 4-Hers after entries are received.
